Retreat and Workshop Reviews

How can your partnering-relationship with your apparatus become more animated and authentic?

“I am so grateful to have found such a beautiful & inspiring place.  There was so much wonder and joy that arose from a graceful mix of structured learning and play.  Susan makes you feel at ease and at home. Wonderful meals, amazing lessons and an abundance of beauty.”  ~Sondra Thompson

“The Retreat has been a breath of fresh air for my trapeze practice.  I came to this Retreat in hopes of cultivating a more graceful presence on the trapeze and a greater ease of movement.  I’m pleasantly surprised at how only three days of work has fully succeeded in doing that.  I’m a shy person…introverted…and find it hard to improvise on the trapeze. However, during just the first day I was already finding new ways to move and an ability to flow.  I was initially somewhat mortified by some of the exercises Susan led us through but so thankful that I gave them my best effort.  I feel less restricted in my movement.  I’ve learned that everything doesn’t have to be a “trick”—that stillness is beautiful and organic movement divine.  Thank you so much for this amazing experience.”  ~Holly Weisser

“I took everything I wanted and more from the weekend Retreat:  ideas, challenges, guidance, movement quality.  Thanks for the way you adjusted to the whims of the group.  Your teaching/leading and patience, your serene wisdom and this beautiful spot all serve to bring out the best in me. It is no wonder I am a third-repeat customer.  I will be back.  How could I not!?” ~Andy Clark

“I loved the encouragement and openness of the environment to explore and find my own form of movement.  Susan and Julie are so warm and welcoming.  They allowed me to work at my own pace and find more of myself and what inspires me.  The food was amazing and the place itself was its own unique brand of paradise from the amazing views, peaceful bike rides, adventurous kayaking and relaxing swimming.  I can’t wait to come back and find out what more there is to discover.”  ~Laura Townsend

“Coming to The Marsh Studio with Susan and Julie has opened up a whole new realm of exploring.  Many of our exercises have pushed me out of my comfort zone.  But I know that a new, more exciting way to move on the trapeze is attainable.  I look forward to carrying all the things I have learned into my future practices.”  ~Vanessa Lawrence
